COPINH Convoca al Foro Público: “Proyectos extractivos y corrupción”

Este miércoles 28 de Octubre, les invitamos a ser parte de nuestro foro “Proyectos Extractivos y Corrupción”.
Objetivo: Visibilizar la corrupción en el modelo de generación de energía en Honduras y las graves violaciones a los derechos humanos de las comunidades indígenas.
La imposición ilegal del proyecto Hidroeléctrico Agua Zarca sobre el sagrado Río Gualcarque en la comunidad Lenca de Río Blanco reveló cómo operan las redes de corrupción del Estado para la venta y concesión de los ríos, negando a las comunidad su legítimo derecho a la Consulta Previa, Libre e informada con el fin de vender su territorio.
El proceso Fraude Sobre el Gualcarque, contra 16 funcionarios públicos no solo reveló la corrupción detrás del proyecto Agua Zarca, sino también como continúa la violación de los derechos de los pueblos al expulsar a la comunidad de Río Blanco y COPINH del proceso del cual son víctimas.

COPINH invites to the Public Forum:
“Extractive Projects and Corruption”
This Wednesday, October 28th, we invite you to be part of our forum “Extractive Projects and Corruption”.
Objective: To make visible the corruption in the model of energy generation in Honduras and the serious violations to the human rights of the indigenous communities.
The illegal imposition of the Agua Zarca Hydroelectric Project on the sacred Gualcarque River in the Lenca community of Rio Blanco revealed how the State’s corruption networks operate for the sale and concession of the rivers, denying the communities their legitimate right to free, informed, and prior consultation in order to sell their territory.
The Fraud on the Gualcarque process, against 16 public officials, not only revealed the corruption behind the Agua Zarca project, but also how the violation of the rights of the people continues by expelling the community of Río Blanco and COPINH from the process of which they are victims.
